One third of Russian suffered from telephone fraudsters

About one third of Russians confirmed that they or their relatives lost their money because of phone fraud. Such conclusions were made by Kaspersky company after the survey. What is more, almost each one of ten said that it was a significant amount. However, only 4% of respondents noted that they appealed to law enforcement agencies in order to bring to justice telephone fraudsters.

Group-IB: the damage from the attacks of the hacker group Silence approached the mark of 300 million rubles

Group-IB, an international company specializing in the prevention of cyberattacks, published a technical report "Silence 2.0: going global" on the crimes of hackers Silence. According to Group-IB, the confirmed amount of thefts by Silence group from June 2016 to June 2019 amounted to 272 million rubles. The victims of Silence have already become Russian banks, but the new report recorded a significant expansion of the geography of their crimes: group-IB analysts revealed the Silence attacks in more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia and the CIS.

The researchers compared the prices of stolen customer data of various Russian banks in the darknet. The data of one customer of the Otkritie bank is sold for 200 rubles while the data of one Sberbank client is estimated at three rubles.

By 2021 more than 40% of organizations will use AI and machine learning to combat fraud

In two years artificial intelligence and machine learning will be used for the anti fraud three times more often than today. Such data were obtained in the course of a joint study of SAS company and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
