On January 28, 2020, VTB also launched a tender in the "request for proposals" format for the supply of Dell Nutanix complexes with an initial contract price of 2.82 billion rubles. A few days later, on February 3, 2020, the bank announced a similar purchase of Lenovo Nutanix complexes with a starting price of 1.5 billion rubles.

Acceptance of applications for both tenders has already been completed. The winner of the first one will be determined on March 6, 2020, and the second one will be determined on March 13.

The purchased complexes are data storage solutions for virtual machines. Describing the nature of integration in them, Nutanix refers to Dell and Lenovo as OEM partners who purchase Nutanix as software (the company has its own packages) to install on their platforms.

The technical specifications of both tenders state that the delivery of server equipment from other manufacturers is not provided. This is due to the fact that the purchased hardware will be used to expand the existing VTB infrastructure on Dell Nutanix and Lenovo Nutanix.

Analysis of the public procurement website shows that the bank has been purchasing Dell Nutanix systems since at least August 2018, and Lenovo Nutanix since October 2019. However, these purchases weren’t as large as they are now. The sum of the initial contract prices in the previous 10 thematic tenders (eight for Dell and two for Lenovo) is 1.21 billion rubles.
