On March 19, 2019 the company Trend Micro Incorporated, specialized in the sphere of cyber security solutions, published results of the survey, dedicated to the problem of the lack of qualified IS specialists with participation of all IT professionals from international companies. 69% respondents consider that the use of artificial intelligence can help to reduce the influence of lack of IT specialists on the security quality.
What is more, 63% of respondents said that they’re going to use AI technologies to automize processes of security support. However, AI won’t be able to solve all problems. For example, such issue as the analyze of results and management of the general security strategy needs qualified cyber security specialists.
Respondents noted that the lack of specialists make them to broaden their learning programs and to use outsourcing services to detect and prevent threats.
"Information security threats are becoming more complex and companies requirements are higher for those who protect their enterprises. More advanced security solutions often make worse the problem of the personnel famine, detecting the lack of employees with all the necessary skills to use effectively modern security systems. This call requires to change the approach to the creation of security means and to ensure AI mechanisms, allowing to make the work of department easier." – said Mikhail Kondrashin, technical director of Trend Micro in Russia and CIS.
In 2018 64% of organizations were impacted by the growth of cyber threats. Companies have the common problem: IT security departments aren't fully completed and have a wide range of responsibilities. According to Gartner study, the lack of professionals have become a problem.
It’s predicted that the need in cyber security specialists will be growing rapidly and by 2020 the market will face 1.5 million open vacancies.
